Filippo Arlia is an Italian pianist, conductor and soloist. He took his piano degree, with honors, at the Conservatory “F. Torrefranca” in Vibo Valentia at the age of 17th, with M° Antonella Barbarossa. He started his career very young with a tournèe in Europe in honour of the composer G. Gershwin.
In 2008 he started a new project the Duettango, one of the most important chamber ensemble dedicate to the interpretation of Astor Piazzolla. In 2015 Duettango made his debut at the Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall) in New York having a great success with the public. In the same year he’s in an international tournèe with the violinist Fernando Suarez Paz with whom he recorded “Duettango” edit by Fonè. During the tournèe he also concduct the Italian premiere of the opera Maria di Buenos Aires.
He done concerts as soloist and as conductors all over the world, in Italy, Russia, Mexico, Germany, U.S.A., Spain, China, Lithuania, Turkey, Romania, Tunisia and New Zeland, playing in the most important music institutions, as the Carnegie Hall and the Mary Flager Cary Hall in New York, the Rachmaninov Hall in Moscow, the Philharmonic of Vladivostok, the S. Katherine Concert Hall in Vilnius, the University and the Performing Arts Centre of Auckland, the Sala Scarlatti in Naples, the Teatro dell’Opera of Casinò in Sanremo, the Cairo Opera House, the Teatro G. Menotti in Spoleto, the Acropolium Theatre in Cartagine, the Superior institute of Music and the University of Sousse, the Teatro Politeama in Catanzaro, the Theatre of Adana, the University of Bacau, Auditorio Nacional de Musica in Madrid, the Tianjin Opera House, the Harbin Opera House.
He conducted prestigious orchestras, among them the Orchestra De Tineret of Cluj, the Cukurova State Symphony Orchestra of Adana, Orchestra Filarmonica M. Jora of Bacau, the Pacific Symphony Orchestra in Vladivostok, l’Orchestra Città di Ferrara and the choir of Teatro Municipale in Piacenza, the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti of Naples, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, l’Orkestra Akademik Baskent of Ankara, l’Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico, l’Orquesta de la UANL in Monterrey, l’Orchestra Filarmonica Toscanini of Parma, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Cairo Symphony Orchestra, South Czech Philarmonic, Odessa Philarmonic Orchestra, Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra.
In 2014 during the tournèe in Russia he has been nominated Honorary Professor of the State Conservatory S. Rachmaninov of Tambov and of the Far Eastern State Academy of Arts of Vladivostok.
Arlia has inaugurated the season 2015/2016 of Teatro Municipale of Piacenza with the Philharmonic Orchestra Toscanini conducting the Symphony no. 3 (Scottish) by Mendelssohn and two concerts of Bach playing by Ramin Bahrami.
In 2016 is again at the Carnegie Hall where he debuted as conductor with the New England Symphony Orchestra in the Main Hall Auditorium Isaac Stern/R. Perelman Stage.
He his nowadays piano teacher and Director of the Superior Institute of Music Studies “P. I. Tchaikovsky” in Nocera Terinese.
