Jorge Eleazar is a Mexican baritone endowed with a vocality full off expressiveness throughout the tessitura (GB Opera Magazine). He sang the antagonistic role, Plutone, in the world premiere of the show “The Òpera” created and directed by Davide Livermore, with whom he has also played Colas from “Bastien und Bastienne” at the Teatro Nazionale / Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova and Roberto de “I Vespri Siciliani” under the baton of Roberto Abbado at the Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia. In this theater he performed, among others, Brander in Damiano Michieletto’s production of “La Damnation de Faust”, Baron Douphol in Sofia Coppola’s production of “La Traviata” with costumes by Valentino, Buonafede in “Il Mondo della Luna” directed by Emilio Sagi, Johann in the Monte-Carlo Opera’s production of “Wether” directed by Jean Louis-Grinda and under the condition of Fabio Biondi, Handel’s Israel in Egypt.
He performed Tonio and Gianni Schicchi at the Na Zamkú Opera in Szczecin/Poland, Taddeo at the Tenerife Opera, Querubini at the Oviedo Zarzuela Opera and first cast as Conte di Ceprano in “Rigoletto” at the Bregenzer Festspiele under the baton of Enrique Mazzola, of which a DVD recording has been made. He recently performed Dandini at the Ticino Festival in Lugano and Giorgio Germont (cover) at LAC conducted by Markus Poschner.
Soon he will sing the role of Mr. Kallenbach from the Opera “Satyagraha” by Phillip Glass at the Antwerp Opera, with the staging of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and the role of Don Alvaro from “Il Viaggio a Reims” at the Opera de Bellas Artes in Mexico.
