Veronika Böhmova was born into a family of Czech musicians in České Budejovice, South Bohemia, in 1985. In her home town she started taking piano lessons with prof. Marie Šimková Kotrčová at the age of five. Later she studied at the Hochschule für Musik Carl-Maria von Weber school in Dresden, guided by prof. Arkadi Zenzipér and at the Prague Music School in a class led by prof. Ivan Klánský. She is a prize winning participant in numerous international music competitions, e.g. Anton G. Rubinstein Competition 2012 in Dresden (2nd prize), Rotary Club Competition 2011 (1st prize), Queen Elizabeth Competition 2010 Brussels (semi finales) and Maria Canals Competition 2007 (2nd prize). She takes regularly part in many master classes given by famous artists, e.g. Klaus Hellwig, David Lively, Michel Béroff, Stefan She ja, Avedis Kouyoumjian and others.
Due to her success Veronika Böhmova performs regularly concerts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic (the Prague Spring and Prague Autumn festivals), Belgium, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Italy, France, USA, Mexico, Japan and China.
At present Veronika Böhmova is the best and most successful solo piano player in the Czech Republic. In 2014 the Czech Supraphon record label released her debut CD with works by Strawinsky and Prokofjev. Since 2015 she has been teaching at the Prague Academy of Music as currently the youngest music professor.
